I’ve tried several hosting services out there. Some offer only 1 MySQL database while some offers their clients with UNLIMITED MySQL databases. I’ve tried them and I also tried the BlueFish web hosting service and I stuck with the BlueFish web hosting.
First of all, those offering only 1 MySQL database limits me. With just 1 MySQL database, you can’t easily install large and complicated scripts who need to have their own and separate MySQL database. For me to try different types of scripts, I need to delete other scripts because I don’t know how to do table prefixing. Also, with an application such as Fantastico, this is just not possible even. So, with just 1 MySQL database and an option to add more but by paying more money for my hosting plan, I just decided to switch from a terrible 1 MySQL database web hosting service.
I tried several hosting plans out there offering UNLIMITED MySQL databases and to my surprise, I am not even happy with them. Why? Because the environment is not at all stable and the performance I get is not even near to a 10/10. I realized that with unlimited MySQL databases and other unlimited features being offered at a low cost by several web hosting companies, the server loads are much higher and of course, more people are lured into getting their hosting from these companies and the performance is also reduced. I was happy at the beginning because I felt like I got the best deal out there. I didn’t just get unlimited MySQL databases, but I also got unlimited bandwidth and storage space for a price of less than $10 a month! Now, for any webmasters, that sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it’s really too good to be true and so I switched once more.
Finally, I found out about BlueFish web hosting. For a minimum of $6.95 a month, I get very decent limit of storage space and bandwidth that I knew I wouldn’t surpass. Also, I get 5 BlueFish MySQL databases and PHP which makes communicating with MySQL database a lot easier. I was a cPanel user for most of my webmaster life, but then I got introduced to the vDeck Control Panel which is what BlueFish is using. I found it to be a bit better compared to cPanel because it makes everything seem a lot easier to do.
The benefits I got from switching to BlueFish web hosting is amazing. I no longer need to pay extra for Ecommerce shopping carts, I get lots of free scripts that I find to be really useful, I get to check my e-mails from a web browser and not rely on my Microsoft Outlook, plus I also got lots of templates that I can use for my simple websites. It seems like BlueFish got everything sorted out. With their single hosting package being offered, you just seem to get everything you would ever need. Plus, of course, their tech support is just brilliant!
